Our program is curated with the world-renowned trad player Liz Doherty.
Liz Doherty is a fiddle player and teacher from Co. Donegal, Ireland. She is the founder and director of I Teach Trad, a new company offering training and professional development for teachers of traditional music. She has performed and recorded with Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin and the RTÉ National Symphony and Concert Orchestras and Riverdance -The Show. She was also a member of bands Bumblebees, Fiddlesticks and Nomos and has two solo recordings – Last Orders and Quare Imagination.

You will attend unique workshops, enjoy lively evening sessions, have a go at landscape painting with one of our top artists, engage in cultural activities with locals, and visit the must-sees on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Prepare yourself for the best off-the-beaten-track and unique cultural experiences.
On arrival in Dublin Airport reclaim your baggage and enter the Arrivals Hall. Here, you will meet your Irish tour guide (who is also your driver).
There will be two group transfers this morning between 0700 am & 1200 noon.
Enjoy the short transfer to your hotel in your air-conditioned mini-coach and look out for Irish landmarks on your way.
Check-in at your deluxe 4-star hotel is from 15:00 but the hotel will be able to store your luggage prior to check-in or you may have the option of an early check-in.
Take in your surroundings or go shopping at the famous O’Connell Street. We will supply you with a list of recommended optional activities or you can choose to relax and unwind in the hotel.
2 pm: Meet in the lobby for a drink and group introductions. It is time for a tour through Dublin with your friendly driver-guide!
Enjoy your first introduction to Irish culture at The Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin’s Docklands. The museum covers the history of the Irish diaspora and emigration to other countries in a fun and interactive way. It was voted as “Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction” at the 2019 World Travel Awards.
A Welcome Dinner is organised at the hotel where you will have a chance to get to know some of the other members of the group.

Today you begin with a walking tour of Dublin city. Visit our top tourist attractions and learn about the history of Ireland. Discover the Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship, The GPO, Temple Bar and Dublin Castle to name but a few!
Explore the amazing history of world-famous studios, Windmill Lane and discover the artists that have recorded here including The Rolling Stones, Kate Bush, The Cranberries, U2, Hozier, Van Morrison, Sinead O’Connor, Metallica, Riverdance, Def Leppard, Lady Gaga and so many more.
Enjoy a fun session of recording- this is tailored from complete beginners to advanced. Of course, you can opt-out if you’re more comfortable watching!
The Wild Atlantic Way Coastal Drive- this route has been voted as one of the best in the world. Your friendly driver-guide will point out and stop at places of interest and incredible beauty.
Stop off at world-renowned poet, W.B. Yeats, grave and discover the enchanting landscape that inspired him. Have some fun deciphering his epitaph with your group. Enjoy lunch at the award-winning Yeats Tavern before heading onto your final destination, Donegal.
Donegal people are particularly known for their warmth, friendliness and generosity. They will make sure your time spent in Donegal is unforgettable.
Today, it is all about creating.
Workshop 2 (3 hours) Build your own bodhrán. The bodhrán is the Irish frame drum – and in this workshop, you get to make your very own instrument!
You have a wonderful opportunity to work with a local professional artist. Our landscape painting is for all abilities. Bring home your masterpiece and give it pride of place!
It’s time to learn some of the magical Irish language in a fun and friendly environment, leave Ireland with a cupla focal (couple of words).
Head to the local tonight for some storytelling and music. Chat to the locals and get involved with a trad session at one of the best trad pubs in the land- The Beehive.
Enjoy your hearty Donegal breakfast.
Today you get the opportunity to travel the cultural hub of Ireland, South-West Donegal, with the world-renowned musician- Liz Doherty. Listen, learn and have the craic on this voyage through our mystical land!
You travel to Sliabh Liag, the highest sea cliffs in Europe. Standing almost 3 times higher than The Cliffs of Moher, these cliffs are spectacular. Drive through Muckross Bay and marvel at the stunning scenery. You have time to check out some of the beautiful beaches in the area, including the spectacular Silver Strand.
It’s time for another workshop. Learn how to play the bodhrán in a fabulous location.
It’s off to the Rusty Mackerel for some food and drinks, which is an Irish experience in itself. This is the most authentic Irish bar you will find. Enjoy the amazing food and stunning scenery and even catch a traditional Irish session with your lunch!
Then it is back to the village for the Irish Ceilí tonight.
Today it is time to head on a Donegal adventure. Head to the mesmerising Glenveagh National Park and Castle. Enjoy the tour of the castle and explore the expansive grounds and gardens.
Take one of the many hikes available. Keep an eye out for flora and fauna. We often spot red deer and golden eagles.
Visit the home of Altan, one of the most famous Irish music bands worldwide. See first hand where their inspiration derived from- the heart of Gaeltacht Donegal.
This evening, you will engage in your last workshop with our top Donegal musician and you will also get the chance to take part in a Sunday trad session.
Today we have another unique experience in store for you. Your trad session is on a boat. Enjoy the magnificent sights of the Wild Atlantic Way, look out for dolphins and whales, sing along to Irish music and sit back and soak up the ambience.

On the way to Dublin, we will stop off at the Ulster American Folk Park. With more than 30 exhibit buildings to explore, the museum tells the story of three centuries of Irish emigration.
No visit to Dublin is complete without a visit to the world-famous Guinness Storehouse. This in-demand tour includes a 90 min experience with a Beer Specialist featuring a tasting session with Guinness favourites and new experimental beers from the Guinness Open Gate Brewery.

Have one last full Irish breakfast and enjoy your last morning in Dublin.
Check out is at 11 am but you are welcome to relax in the hotel until you have to depart.

The island of Ireland is in fact two countries:
There is no hard border between the 2 countries and you will not need your passport to travel within the island. Cars drive on the left in both countries. You will however need 2 different currencies: EUROS for Ireland and POUNDS for Northern Ireland. Many establishments will take both currencies, but not all.
They say Ireland can experience all 4 seasons in one day. Actually, it can experience all 4 seasons at once. Make sure you always have a raincoat or an umbrella with you. And wearing layers is a good idea as temperatures can vary. Typical temperatures in the Spring and Autumn (Fall) are between 5 and 15 degrees and in Summer from 10 to 20 degrees. But you may get lucky and catch a heatwave when you’re here.

Ireland has 14 international airports, although only 4 of these take flights from outside Europe and the UK: Dublin, Belast, Shannon and Knock.
If you are arriving at one of the other international airports around Ireland, we can help arrange transport to Dublin.
